Preacher has been a fulltime fire and sideshow performer since 1998. He is based in the UK, and has performed across the world. He is a specialist in fire manipulation, traditional and modern sideshow, prop balancing and holds several world records in these disciplines.
Born in Ireland, Preacher began teaching himself circus skills when he was 14 and moved onto sideshow, fire eating and breathing and a variety of other skills and performing for friends at parties. After leaving school Preacher became a fulltime performer and aged 19, was invited to join the world famous Jim Rose circus.
After leaving the circus Preacher spent the next four years traveling the world as a solo performer and often worked alongside some of the top performers the world has to offer. In 2003 Preacher relocated to London to continue to work as a performer and further improve his skills. Preacher has been awarded a number of world records, made various TV and film appearances and has worked behind the scenes as a consultant on several TV and film productions.
Preacher has studied martial arts over his lifetime and holds belts in Wei Chi Kung Fu, Kenpo Karate and currently studies Urban Krav Maga. He is also trained in a variety of weapons including balisong knives, foils, nunchucks, and bo staff.
Preacher has continued to develop his skills over the years and is able to perform some very rare and unique stunts such as balancing a running lawnmower on his chin and trains daily to improve his skills and shows. He has also made a move into stand-up comedy mixing sideshow stunts with his own brand of comedy with high critical praise.
These days he is not only a fulltime performer but a trainer as well, and has taught some of the top UK fire and sideshow performers and is also a consultant to insurance companies who cover performers.
Preacher has also studied a variety of support skills and is highly trained in health and safety (particularly fire safety), first aid, stagecraft, stage management and has an encyclopedic knowledge of insurance regulations, laws relating to performance and performers and health and safety regulations.
